Dr. Richard Valantasis, Professor of Ascetical Theology and Christian Practice and Director of Anglican Studies
Professor Valantasis is author of Centuries of Holiness: Ancient Spirituality Refracted for a Postmodern Age (2005), The New Q: A Fresh Translation and Commentary (2005), The Gospel of Thomas (1997), an editor of Asceticism (1995), and the editor of Religions of Late Antiquity in Practice (2000), and numerous articles on asceticism in the early church. His research interests include the history and theory of asceticism and the formative practice of religion.
