Baptist students at Candler come from all
the major branches of the Baptist family:
Alliance of Baptists, American Baptists,
Cooperative Baptists, the National
Baptist Conventions, Progressive
Baptists, and Southern Baptists—not to
mention smaller Baptist groups. Baptists
at Candler include women and men, people
from all parts of the country, and students
from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
In addition to the core classes, the Baptist
Studies Program includes opportunities
for Baptist students to get to know one
another and work together, typically in
conjunction with a Baptist faculty member.
Camaraderie, collegiality, and shared
learning are thus important and exciting
aspects of the program. For further information,

A limited number of scholarships covering three-quarters tuition are available to full-time
Baptist students studying in the MDiv program. A cumulative grade point average of 3.0
is required for these awards. Based on potential excellence in ministry, these awards are
made possible by donations from Baptist individuals, churches, and organizations, as well
as by matching funds from Candler. Most recipients of these scholarships are considered
to be Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Leadership scholars. Participation in this program is
an additional requirement of the scholarship. For application information, contact
the Office of Admissions at 404.727.6326.
