Site Mission:Compelled by faith in Jesus Christ and God’s call to do justice, the Central Presbyterian Outreach and Advocacy Center stands with our neighbors in the heart of the city to respond to basic human needs of the poor and to advocate for public and corporate policies that reflect our human understanding of God’s vision of a just society. |

About the Site:We are a homeless and near homeless ministry that tries to meet the basic life needs of those we serve. We assist with obtaining state ID, local transportation, birth certificate procurement, emergency food, basic medical needs, clothing referrals, drug and alcohol treatment referrals, and spiritual needs. We also do a great deal of advocacy work within the city and state governments so that our guests have a voice in law making. Students will be doing case management with the homeless and near homeless men and women, welcome desk duties, and pantry duties. Students may also do some advocacy work during the legislative session. It is preferred that students work in a solid four hour block once a week. Students may work during the hours of Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and Wednesday 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. |
