Candler School of Theology serves as a regional location for the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education and Ministry Course of Study for local pastors. The regional school, along with seven other United Methodist Seminaries in the United States are authorized by the Division of Ordained Ministry to offer the five year course of studies for licensed local pastors (¶318 and ¶319, The United Methodist Book of Discipline). The Rev. Elizabeth Luton serves as the director (1997-present) and Michelle Levan as Program Coordinator. The Emory School offers summer and year round classes to over 400 part-time and full-time local pastors.
Dates for the Summer 2008 Course of Study School are July 7—August 1, 2008.
Winter 2008: January 12, January 26, and February 16
Spring 2008: April 12, April 26, and May 17
Fall 2008: September 13, October 4, and October 18
