Youth Ministry from the Ground Up: A Course for Youth Ministry Practitioners

Interested in learning the latest research and best practices in youth ministry?
Eager to connect with other colleagues for support and sharing ideas?
Ready to try something new with your youth?

Candler School of Theology’s Office of Lifelong Learning is offering a short course in youth ministry during the fall of 2009. Designed for youth workers currently working, interning or volunteering in a church or non-profit setting,  the class will explore models of youth ministry rooted in the lives and concerns of youth themselves—youth ministry that builds from the ground up! Applying current research regarding youth culture while drinking deeply from Christian texts and traditions, the class will develop practices of “discernment” with youth that are relevant, empowering, liberating, and faithful to our baptismal covenant of nurturing love of God and neighbor in young people.
