John Witte presents 2005-06 McDonald Lecture
John Witte Jr., Jonas Robitscher Professor of Law and Ethics at Emory University School of Law is the 2005-06 McDonald Distinguished Visiting Professor at Emory's Candler School of Theology. The Alonzo L. McDonald Family Chair on the Life and Teachings of Jesus and their Impact on Culture, established through a generous gift from The McDonald Agape Foundation, under the direction of Alonzo L. McDonald, the Chairman of the Foundation, supports lectures and other public presentations that deal creatively and imaginatively with the person and teachings of Jesus as they shape and form culture. The chair holder delivers a series of lectures or public presentations over the course of a semester. A public lecture was held on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 4:30 p.m. in Cannon Chapel on the Candler/Emory campus. Professor Witte's title is "Freedom of a Christian: Protestant Contributions to Modern Religious Liberty and Human Rights."
