This summer internship offers an opportunity for Candler students to serve in the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church during the summer months. Students experience ministry in a unique context, sharing their gifts and learning from congregations engaging the Wesleyan tradition within a Caribbean culture.
Candler students have served as local pastors in rural churches while the minister of that congregation is on leave. Students have significant opportunities for teaching, preaching, and other practices of ministry. Placements may also include work in a church camp setting. Students with strong leadership abilities and good communication skills are encouraged to apply.

These positions generally receive a stipend for their work to cover travel and other expenses. In addition, housing is usually provided along with a weekly allowance for living expenses.

Placements may be available in various locations across the islands; specific assignments will be made after student participants are selected.
Applicants will complete a written application and an interview.
