Candler School of Theology strives to meet the financial needs of students in a variety of ways. Candler scholarships come from several sources, including:
Currently, the majority of scholarships awarded are funded through endowed scholarship funds. In fiscal year 2011-2012, Candler distributed more than $5.5 million in student scholarships.
The Theology School Fund for Excellence and the new Candler Advantage program seek to build on Candler's long-standing commitments to student scholarships and contextual education with an initiative to reduce educational debt, a heavy burden too many graduates take with them into the ministry. In addition to enhancing need-based scholarships, your gifts to student support will provide stipends for students to work in churches and community ministries, thus addressing unmet financial needs with part-time employment and enriching practical skills with increased time in professional ministry settings.
Some endowment gifts include naming opportunities. Review Emory's naming policies.
