Gathering in Song Kombo Na Yesu led by Slyvie Kabanga & CATSA
Opening Prayer Leah Lyman Waldron, French
O Christ,
We anticipate your coming,
and yet it surprises us still.
We look for you in the familiar,
while you speak to us from corners unnoticed and unseen.
Come, fill us with the magnitude of your love
that extends throughout our entire earth.
Teach us the ways of your salvation
through songs unknown, languages unlearned, traditions unfamiliar,
that we might more faithfully follow the One
who gathers all into one holy people
Come Creator.
Come Incarnate.
Come Spirit.
We are looking for you in the new and unknown. Amen.
Lighting of the Advent Wreath Rodgers & Abiba Alice Chishiba
Blessed are you, O Lord our God, ruler of the universe.
Your prophets spoke of a day
when the desert would blossom
and waters would break forth in the wilderness.
Bless us as we light the candles on this wreath.
Strengthen our hearts
as we prepare for the coming of the Lord.
May he give water to all who thirst,
for he is our light and our salvation.
Blessed be God forever.
