Celebration of Gospel Music

As part of Black History Month, the Black Student Caucus at Candler presents a Celebration of Gospel Music, February 2-3, 2009, featuring gospel music legend Dr. Margaret Pleasant Douroux. The composer of hundreds of gospel music renditions, Dr. Douroux is also an educator, church and community leader, writer, and worship leader whose songs are performed by major recording artists and heard on gospel music radio and television stations across the United States. The event includes a Monday evening workshop and a Tuesday morning musical worship celebration, both led by Dr. Douroux, followed by a lunch and open forum to allow more informal conversation with Dr. Douroux. All events are open to the public and will take place in Cannon Chapel on the campus of Emory University. For details, contact Michael A. Hunt (mahunt@emory.edu) or Kyndra Frazier (kdfrazier@emory.edu).
