With Tom's leadership, the membership at Christ UMC has nearly doubled from 500 to 950, worship attendance increased 85%, the operating budget increased 165%, existing debt was reduced from $1.1 million to $350,000, and $2.7 million was raised in a $4.75 million capital expansion.

In addition to graduating summa cum laude from Candler as a Woodruff Fellow, Tom is an honors graduate of the University of Virginia and is pursuing a D.Min. degree in pastoral psychotherapy from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Before enrolling at Candler he worked as a political consultant and in real estate development.
