Ted A. Smith, assistant professor of preaching and ethics, will be the featured speaker on the national radio program Day 1 on December 1, the first Sunday in Advent. Visit Day1.org to find station information and program schedule in your area.
Smith’s sermon is based on Isaiah 2:1-5 and is titled “Later Days.”
"It is because the Prince of Peace has come that we can hope that nations will not study war anymore," Smith says. "It is because the Word was made flesh that we can yearn for a day when God will teach us God’s ways. It is because God is with us, even now, that we have hope, wait, and yearn."
The program will include opening and closing interviews with Smith conducted by Day 1 host and executive producer Peter Wallace. After the air date, an audio file of Smith’s sermon, the interviews, and a transcript will be available via Day 1’s website at Day1.org.
A weekly broadcast for more than 68 years, Day 1 is a nationally syndicated, ecumenical radio program featuring noteworthy preachers from the mainline denominations. It is distributed to more than 200 radio stations across America and overseas. Day 1 is a production of the Alliance for Christian Media, based in Atlanta.
